Essentials includes 25GB storage and limited dashboards; Pro adds unlimited storage/dashboards and automated workflows; Premier adds advanced permissions and business intelligence reporting; Elite swaps the QuickBooks Online integration for built-in accounting. One independent reviewer (Lawyerist) cites lower figures ($49-129) for the same four tiers - we couldn't fully reconcile this discrepancy, so treat Rocket Matter's own current pricing page as the more authoritative, checkable source.
Payments: Rocket Matter Pay, not LawPay
This corrects a commonly repeated claim. We found no current evidence that Rocket Matter still integrates with LawPay as a marketed payment partner - LawPay's own partners page lists MyCase, Docketwise, and CasePeer, but not Rocket Matter. Rocket Matter's own billing and payments feature pages reference only "Rocket Matter Pay," its in-house processor built from a February 2020 acquisition of LexCharge (itself now a ProfitSolv sibling brand). A support-article title still literally mentions LawPay, but its body text only discusses Rocket Matter Pay - a likely leftover from an earlier era before the in-house processor existed.
NextGen relaunch and AI
Rocket Matter relaunched as "Rocket Matter NextGen" in July 2024 - a modernized UI, dashboard builder, custom views, enhanced QuickBooks Online sync, and a SOC 2 Type 2 compliance claim. Separately, Rocket Matter added a ChatGPT integration in May 2023 for in-platform drafting and summarizing. Both are real, dated, sourced developments - not just marketing language - though we did not find an independently published SOC 2 audit report, which is normal since these typically aren't made public.
Mobile app - a real, significant weak point
The legacy iOS app sits at 1.4/5 with 59 ratings, last updated December 2022 and effectively abandoned - reviews call it "non-functional," with one reviewer noting Rocket Matter "doesn't devote resources to the iOS app." The legacy Android app sits at 1.6/5 with 29 ratings, with reports of the app crashing on launch. A rebuilt "NextGen" iOS app exists (launched 2024-25) but hasn't yet accumulated enough ratings to assess. This is consistent with G2, Capterra, and TrustRadius reviews, which separately and repeatedly flag mobile app limitations as a top complaint.
